On-Ramp Group Classes

The program is designed for (and is required for) anyone without formal CrossFit experience who would like to join CrossFit Worcester.  Whether you have been sedentary, generally active or an elite athlete, our ‘On-Ramp’ class is tailored to prepare you for the technical proficiency that is a prerequisite for our group workouts. 


Along with other beginners, you will be introduced to our curriculum in a group setting.  You will learn about nutrition, stress management, and all the proper movements required for Olympic lifts, power lifts, gymnastic skills, metabolic conditioning and journal tracking.  Movement technique will be taught and learned along with a progressive introduction to the intensity levels that are the foundation of our group classes.  On-Ramp will ensure that you have a solid understanding of all that we do and will prepare you to safely participate in the larger group classes. 


On-Ramp classes begin the first Monday of each month. The class runs every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8:30pm – 9:30pm for three weeks (nine sessions). Unlike many other gyms, the cost for the program is included with your monthly fee. During the last week of your on-ramp month, you will join our other members in prescribed daily workouts under the supervision of our trainers. By the end of the month, you will be ready to Crossfit!


For those of you who have been doing CrossFit at home or at another gym and now want the real thing, you may be able to graduate into our group classes with just a few personal training sessions. Others who can humbly demonstrate adequate strength and sound technique may be able to bypass On-Ramp altogether. We’ve found that the biggest hurdle for people who have been doing CrossFit on their own is the intensity of the group workout. But it doesn’t take long to adjust and soon you won’t want to work out any other way.


Personal Training for those who cannot do the on ramp program
If the On-Ramp program does not fit your schedule or if you would prefer individual coaching, you can instead schedule personal training sessions.  We provide four personal training sessions with a CrossFit Worcester trainer to fully prepare you for the group classes. We charge $200 for the four sessions and can generally work around your schedule that month.
